3 Minute Wonder

                                                    3 Minute Wonder

1. Minute Wonder is a short Channel 4 television slot that broadcasts first time directors' three-minute TV programmes in the middle of the channel's weekday prime time schedule. It offers first-time directors and assistant producers the opportunity to air their work to a large audience, and in doing so, to take a first step into the competitive UK film industry. The aim of them is to portray a documentary in the short time of 3 minutes and to maybe advertise a small charity and young film makers. The topics can vary from emotional and deep to light and comedic, but they are normally meant to leave the viewer shocked and more informed on the topic.

3. 1- King of Laughter- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMq7NrgE8AA
I liked this one because i like the whole concept, it is a joyful 3 minute wonder and leaves the audience with a new train of thought, it is about a man who travels to the supposedly saddest place to live to try and cheer everyone up. He has a world record of the longest laugh, and when he was younger he had a house fire and lost everything but continues on having a positive mind set leaving the viewer feeling more happy after watching, i learnt that even if bad things happen you should always try and be positive. I believe the documentary format is interactive because it shows a
lot of snippets of small interviews with other people and their view point on the situation.

2- Last Supper- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6Mc3uJ_xRI
This one is about a man who has committed murder and is on death row, the title is called Last Supper because it is a topic that is spoke about a lot on death row as you get to choose your last supper before you die. I like this one because it's interesting and gives an insight into the people on death row, i learnt about the crime he committed and how the death penalty works in jail. The documentary format is an observational one, as it solely focuses on him as a person and his crime and there is no voice over but several shots of the setting.

3- Life- Karl Pilkington- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0fy6plSOk0
This one is one by Karl Pilkington where he discusses the meaning of life whilst walking around a science museum, i have learnt that some of the points he was making are reasonable and he does have a good argument, the documentary type is an expository documentary as it only has a voice over and focuses on addressing the viewer with information.
